Time for a little fun!

Easter is finally upon us. The eggs and chocolates you've seen in the store are almost ripe and ready to be consumed. Bollocks to that. Is you're Christian then easter is the time of Christ's death and ressurection. If you look at old pagan rituals this is the northern hemishpere's festival for the start of spring. So what on earth are we doing? For a start, chocolate has nothing to do with Christ or spring. And second, in Australia, spring starts in September. My girlfriend said she wants no chocolate for easter this year so I'm thinking of what we can make easter about for us now. Coming into winter perhaps we should place more emphasis on making easter special to each of our own families. We should give each other gifts that will help us throughout the winter and into spring. This time of year quinces, apples and plums are in season. All the autumn fruits. It's time to make preserves from all the summer fruit that's almost rotten to keep for winter. Perhaps a handmade gift you can spread on your toast every morning would better suit an Australian easter. We made christmas different with prawns and cold hams and seafood, so why not easter. Come on Australia!

Who thinks that way?

In all seriousness, how many people don't like their jobs? There must be a lot. I've been there myself. But in saying that, is there any reason people don't take pride in their work? Do people not care how they're viewed by their colleagues. As for myslef, I do care. I think you can gain a lot from earning the respect and admiration of your peers. More opportunites open up, and people will help you more often than not. Now i'm not just talking skill here, I'm also talking about attitude, appearance and manner. Maybe it's just where I work, but everyone seems to be adverse to our new way of thinking. But our way of thinking is more efficient, cost effective and easier in the long run. And still some people don't want to be part of it. I don't understand anymore. And frankly I'm getting to the point of not caring about them, and they can fall by the wayside and get left behind. Keep looking and you'll find it.

Doesn't this just make you wanna eat something now? This salad was created at ecco in Brissy, my home town.

Good eats

It's obvious that not everyone appreciates my way of thinking. Let's face it, that would just be boring. But I must say I'm dissapointed that not everyone thinks about what they eat. Eating is something we must do to survive, so why rush it? And why do we continually look to quick and nasty alternatives? There is so much out there that's quick to prepare and better for you than a microwave meal. Here's a site that can tell what all those numbers mean - http://www.x-sitez.com/allergy/additives/ And some of them might really shock you. So here I am to perhaps enlighten people about the way they look at what they put into they're body. Hey, I'm not perfect, I like McDonalds and Hungry Jacks occasionally too, but only in small doses.
